Senior Resource Geologist

Orezone Gold Corporation is a gold exploration and development company with significant gold resources in Burkina Faso and more than 15 years operating experience in West Africa, one of the world's fastest growing producing regions. We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Senior Resource Geologist. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated mining individual to be part of a growing team.

Reporting to the Vice President of Exploration the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Applying relevant Geostatistical methods to generate high quality 3D block models for a range of ore bodies, ensuring these models meet internal and general industry standards
• Provide the company with accurate and reliable grade estimation reports through Geostatistical analysis
• Ensure all geological and analytical data used in Block Modeling estimation is accurate and of a high quality to achieve accurate and precise grade estimation
• Develop a rapport with all relevant entities, including subsidiary companies' geological and mining departments within the business as well as all external stakeholders involved in Resource Estimation

As the successful candidate you will need to demonstrate the following:

• At least 5 years experience as a Resource Geologist, Mine Geologist or Production Geologist with a firm understanding of mine geology procedures, ore deposits and orebody exploration
• Superior skills in the use of computerized mine planning tools such as GEMS, Whittle, Datashed, SQL, Leapfrog, etc.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams including feasibility studies and due diligence mandates
• A willingness to travel, even though the position will be based in Ottawa
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
