Are there any producing mines in Burkina Faso today?
Yes. Mana, Taparko and Youga are now
producing mines and Perkoa (base metals), Inata and
Kalsaka will be producing mines within the next few
years. However there is a long history of artisanal gold production - manual extraction of gold from the near-surface, weathered rock, by villagers - in Burkina Faso.
