| Orezone Sponsors Collaborative Research in Mining and Exploration Geology and Purchases
of Microscope for University of Ouagadougou |
Orezone is working with the University of Ouagadougou (UO) in Burkina Faso and the University of Witwatersrand (WITS) in Johannesburg, South Africa on
a collaborative research. The research projects are part of a joint university program entitled “Integrated Strato-structural and Gold Metallogenic Studies, Burkina Faso, West Africa”. Orezone is sponsoring 3 M.Sc./Ph.D. projects for a total of US$36,000 as well as the field logistics for the M.Sc. project at WITS
and the 3 M.Sc./Ph.D. projects.

Infrastructure Investment at University of Ouagadougou

All the “Integrated Strato-structural and Gold Metallogenic Studies” describe above required the students to use various specialized equipment; hence Orezone donated a Nikon 50i POL microscope to the geology department
at the University of Ouagadougou. The $35,000 polarized microscope will allow the geology students to view, analyzed and study the complex structural details of the mineralogy of the rocks. Furthermore the microscope
does allow for digital photographs to be captured and downloaded directly into a computer.
