Orezone has reserves totaling 3.12 million ounces in the Essakane Main Zone and there is the potential for more ounces with further exploration and deposit development. Annual production of 300,000 oz/yr at less than $300/oz and 15% IRR Description The Essakane property is about 1,200 km2, and is situated 330km northeast of the capital, Ouagadougou. This wide, near-surface oxide gold deposit is hosted within a volcano-sedimentary sequence in a greenstone belt. Gold-bearing quartz veins have been mined on the property by artisans since 1984. In the late 1980s and early 1990s the artisans produced some 500kg of gold a year.
